Nicholas G. Pejic MD
"I am driven by helping patients stabilize and improve their lives. I do this by properly diagnosing all of a patient's problems and addressing each one. Treatment may include taking medications, initiating "talk" therapy, completing homework assignments or making changes in diet, exercise,
work, and relationships. I am committed to finding solutions and bringing my patients relief." -Dr. Pejic

Nicholas G. Pejic MD is a graduate of Tulane
University and Tulane University School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree in 2004. He
completed his General Psychiatry Residency and Chief Residency at LSU School of Medicine and Ochsner Medical Center. He completed a Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at LSU in June 2010, where he will maintain a clinical faculty position teaching medical students and residents.
Dr. Pejic created Atlas Psychiatry in October 2008 to provide a private and pleasant experience for patients undergoing expert psychiatric evaluation, especially since this can be a uniquely stressful time for a patient.
The name "Atlas" comes from the Greek root durus, which means "hard" or "enduring". Dr. Pejic chose "Atlas Psychiatry" to signify the difficult struggle patients have with life's decisions as well as psychiatric disorders. He enjoys partnering with his patients to shoulder their troubles or illness, while hopefully making life better.
At Tulane University, beginning in Fall 2010, Dr. Pejic will pursue a PhD in neuroscience as well as teach a career course for freshmen entitled "All you have to do is die-A psychiatrist's guide to choosing a career."
Dr. Pejic loves running in Audubon park, playing the guitar and occasionally hosting a local talk radio show.
