Emily Carrington is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of clinical experience. Emily worked in her early career providing addiction treatment, and psychotherapy services in the Baton Rouge community. She worked for eight years in the field of infant mental health in the greater New Orleans area, where she provided early intervention, training and social-emotional skill building tools to early childhood educators, children and families.
Emily has clinical training in group therapy and is interested in the use of psychodrama and gestalt within the group dynamic. Emily has experience with program development and spent time directing a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program on the Northshore. Emily joins the Atlas Psychiatry team as an enthusiastic provider of insight oriented therapy. Her mission is to provide supportive and structured interventions to assist individuals towards achieving wellness and shame resiliency. Her therapeutic approach is founded on existential theory that she believes is best supported through a trusting and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
Emily’s number one goal is to instill in a person the feeling of hope. She uses a strengths-based perspective that is solution focused, to assist people with everyday struggles and relationship challenges that can become overwhelming.
